Combee Cites DeNapoli’s Small Business and Financial Planning Background Along With His Years of Service to the Grassroots of the Republican Party

Nokomis, FL – Today, businessman, former prosecutor, and Republican Party leader, Richard DeNapoli, announced the endorsement of State Representative Neil Combee.

In endorsing Richard, Representative Combee said,

Responsible, long term financial choices are upon us in Florida.  From expanding access to health care to energy to small business development, the Florida Legislature needs people, like Richard DeNapoli, who know the rigors of running a business, the impact of government on jobs, and the need to plan ahead.  Richard also knows, better than most, the true work that goes into building a party and support for a cause.  His service as party chairman puts Richard on the pulse of the grassroots in Florida and his insights into growing our State and growing our party will be invaluable.”

Upon receiving his support, Richard DeNapoli said

Richard_DenapoliTo have the support of such a principled and honorable conservative like Representative Neil Combee, is truly an honor.  Neil knows what it is like to run a business and face the burden of nonsensical or outdated government regulations. He also knows that, in business, you have to plan ahead, prioritize, and sometimes, no always get what you want, but work to ensure you have what you need.  I will look to him and his experience and leadership and thank him for his endorsement and support.”

Richard DeNapoli attends Ray Pilon Fundraiser

Today, September 18th, 2013, I had the pleasure of attending State Representative Ray Pilon’s Fundraiser.

Here is a little about Representative Pilon from his website.

Representative Ray Pilon is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. Ray and his family moved to Sarasota in 1975 from Michigan.

In November of 1996, after a career in law enforcement and experience in the private sector as an Executive VP for a major cable company, Ray won the support of the citizens of Sarasota County by being elected countywide to the Board of County Commissioners, representing District 1. He was one of five commissioners responsible for policy decisions affecting over 300,000 residents.

Carrying over his knowledge of the political arena, in 2001 he joined the Peace River Manasota Regional Water Supply Authority (PRMRWSA) as their Community and Government Affairs Director. In that capacity he helped coordinate the efforts of the four county commissions making up the Authority: Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto and Charlotte. In addition Mr. Pilon maintained rapport with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) and its basin boards. Candidate Richard DeNapoli (FL-DIST. 74) Has a Record of Fighting for Voter Rights

Watchdog Wire covered my efforts to protect voter rights and the integrity of the voting rolls in Broward County.  Check out the article below…

September 17, 2013 by Dr. Richard Swier

WDW sat down with Richard DeNapoli, candidate for FL-District 74. As the 2014 election cycle heats up it is important for voters to know the candidates. WDW will continue to interview candidates and elected officials to educate voters.

DeNapoli served as a prosecutor in Orange County, Florida for a short time after law school, prosecuting third degree felonies, before returning to South Florida to care for his grandmother when his grandfather passed away in June 2003.

In addition to being a Licensed Attorney, Realtor, Mortgage Broker and Notary, DeNapoli is also a Certified Financial Planner. He worked as a Trust and Investment Officer for five years at Northern Trust on a team with $1.8 Billion assets under management providing services to high net worth individuals. Prior to joining Northern Trust, DeNapoli had a successful law practice.

What sets DeNapoli apart is his work in Broward County, FL to insure voters rights are protected.

In November 2011 DeNapoli sent an open letter to Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, the Supervisor of Elections in Broward County, about early voting locations. DeNapoli, the then Chair of the Broward Republican Executive Committee (BREC), found that all of the Broward County early voting locations were in heavily Democratic areas. DeNapoli in his letter noted, “Research in numerous scholarly journals has shown that the greater the distance from a voting site, the greater exists the likelihood of non voting. The incidence of early voting is highly sensitive to the location of the early voting location.” Due to his efforts one of seventeen early voting locations was placed in a heavily Republican location.

But DeNapoli was not finished. To continue reading the article, click here

Richard DeNapoli Attends the Florida Federation of Young Republicans Convention

I had a wonderful time connecting with old friends and meeting new friends at the Florida Federation of Young Republicans Convention in Orlando.  Speaker of the Florida House Will Weatherford, Congressman Daniel Webster, RPOF Vice Chair Blaise Ingoglia, and Governor Rick Scott were all in attendance.  Their speeches were inspirational.

From the FFYR Website: “The Florida Federation of Young Republicans is an officially chartered Republican organization founded to unite and coordinate amongst Young Republican chapters within the State of Florida as well as to advocate for Republican office-holders, candidates, and ideas. … Young Republicans take part in GOP activities in their communities, doing everything from registering voters to phone-banking, managing campaigns, and even running for office themselves. They provide crucial support to the Republican party and work to ensure the future of the party in their communities and nationwide.”  Please visit their website at www.ffyr.org.

Richard DeNapoli Makes Moves, Gets Support in House Race

Richard DeNapoli Makes Moves, Gets Support in House Race

By: ALLISON NIELSEN | Posted: August 7, 2013 3:55 AM, Originally featured here in Sunshine State News
Richard DeNapoli

As suddenly as he jumped into a new county in a new district, Richard DeNapoli hopped into the race to replace Rep. Doug Holder in Florida House District 74 Monday, and he’s already making waves and gaining support from GOP representatives across the state.

HD 74, which covers most of Sarasota County, will soon need a new representative because Holder faces term limits. Holder has served the district since 2007. DeNapoli, on the other hand, has been living across-state in Broward County.

Born and raised in Hollywood, DeNapoli left the Sunshine State briefly to attend Fordham Law School in New York City. He returned to South Florida to attend the University of Miami, where he received his master’s degree in estate planning in 2008.
DeNapoli was appointed a commissioner in the Florida Real Estate Commission in 2007, and was reappointed and confirmed by the Florida Senate.

He stepped on the scene in Florida politics when he became treasurer of the Broward County Republican Party in 2010 and was later elected chair in December 2012. He became well-known as a strong Republican Party fundraiser, and has been lauded by conservatives for his work to boost party development and fundraise in Broward County.

Yet, despite his successes in the second-largest county in the state, DeNapoli packed his bags and left South Florida to move to Sarasota County with his family this year. He told Sunshine State News he moved to the west coast because it’s “a beautiful place to live, work, and raise a family.”

DeNapoli decided to get into the race after speaking with friends, family and people in the Sarasota community.

“I talked to a lot of local people,” he said.

He said he not only brings experience, but focus to the race.

“I’m an attorney and a financial planner. I like focusing on results. We’ve got a lot of serious issues facing our state going forward,” DeNapoli explained. “I think we need to maintain conservative principles that Governor Scott’s administration is putting forward over the last few years. We need to keep Florida on that track.”

Other state representatives have taken notice of DeNapoli’s intentions to run and have jumped onboard to endorse him in the race for the Florida House. Rep. Ray Pilon, R-Sarasota, and Rep. George Moraitis, R-Fort Lauderdale, both had warm words of praise for DeNapoli and his conservative values.

“Richard DeNapoli is a true conservative who Sarasota residents can count on to keep Florida on the road to economic prosperity. He’s an intelligent, common-sense conservative who won’t back down from his principles,” said Rep. Moraitis.”Richard DeNapoli’s experience in retirement security, financial planning, and Florida law make him well-suited to protect Florida’s seniors and their issues in Tallahassee. He’d make a great partner to work with in Tallahassee when it comes to protecting Sarasota County and its citizens,” Rep. Pilon said.

He has been a member of the Florida Real Estate Commission since 2007, including a stint as chairman in 2010-11.

“From property insurance to Medicaid and from education to pensions, Florida faces serious challenges that require methodical and thoughtful planning,” DeNapoli said. “I’ve spent my entire career assisting moms, dads, seniors, and working Americans plan for the future.  I intend to use that experience to help meet the challenges facing Florida’s future.”

Richard Writes in BizPACReview

I wrote a piece today in BizPACReview entitled “Who will beat the nation’s most vulnerable Democrat” analyzing the numbers in the Congressional District 18 race between Allen West and Patrick Murphy.  You can read part of it here and link to the full story below.

Who will beat the nation’s ‘most vulnerable Democrat’?

FEBRUARY 19, 2013 BY RICHARD DENAPOLI

Congressman Patrick Murphy, who recently eked out a victory over former Congressman Allen West in District 18, has now been labeled  the “most vulnerable Democrat.”

Sabato’s Crystal Ball, the product of highly respected University of Virginia Center for Politics Director Larry J. Sabato, said just that on Feb. 7. The Crystal Ball has been a leader in accurately predicting elections across the country.

One way to determine vulnerability of Democrats in Congress is to look at districts where Mitt Romney won yet the Republican congressional candidate lost. An analysis of Congressional District 18 shows that Romney won the district, and the numbers show how vulnerable Murphy may be in 2014.

Romney Obama West Murphy
Palm Beach 71,066 65,699 68,348 68,158
Martin 48,183 30,107 43,333 32,532
St. Lucie 56,202 65,869 52,672 65,567
Total Votes 175,451 161,675 164,353 166,257
Percentage Total of 2-way race 52% 48% 49.7% 50.3%

The numbers clearly show this is a swing district. To Read More Click Here
