Attorney, financial planner and successful leader of the Broward GOP Party, Richard DeNapoli announced Monday he’s planning on making a run for the Florida House District 74 seat, which covers most of Sarasota County and is currently held by Rep. Doug Holder. Holder faces term limits.

“From property insurance to Medicaid and from education to pensions, Florida faces serious challenges that require methodical and thoughtful planning,” said DeNapoli. “I’ve spent my entire career assisting moms, dads, seniors, and working Americans plan for the future. I intend to use that experience to help meet the challenges facing Florida’s future.”

House Members think DeNapoli best suited to solve Florida’s problems

Nokomis, FL – Today, businessman and Republican Party stalwart, Richard DeNapoli, earned the primary endorsements of Sarasota State Representative Ray Pilon and Broward State Representative George Moraitis.

“Richard DeNapoli’s experience in retirement security, financial planning, and Florida law make him well suited to protect Florida’s seniors and their issues in Tallahassee.  He’d make a great partner to work with in Tallahassee when it comes to protecting Sarasota County and its citizens,” Representative Pilon stated.

“Richard DeNapoli is a true conservative who Sarasota residents can count on to keep Florida on the road to economic prosperity.  He’s and intelligent, common-sense conservative who won’t back down from his principles,” Representative Moraitis added.

DeNapoli said, “To start this campaign with the support of Representatives Ray Pilon and George Moraitis is truly an honor.  Both are thoughtful leaders who do what’s right for their constituents and I look forward to their help and thank them for the early show of confidence in this campaign.”

A native of Florida, Richard DeNapoli is passionate about law, estate planning, financial planning, real estate and the relationships he has formed through helping others in these areas.

In addition to being a Licensed Attorney, Realtor, Mortgage Broker and Notary, Richard has also been successful in obtaining his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. He is licensed to practice law in Florida and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. In 2007, Richard DeNapoli was appointed as a Commissioner to the Florida Real Estate Commission (“FREC”), and subsequently reappointed when that term was up. Both of his appointments to the FREC were confirmed by the Florida Senate.

He was unanimously elected to serve as the Chairman of the Florida Real Estate Commission from 2010-2011, and he continues to serve on the Commission today. Richard also served as the Treasurer of the Broward Republican Party in 2010, and then as Chairman of the Broward County Republican Party through December of 2012.  Recently, Richard has been focusing on his professional career and on his family. Richard DeNapoli Joins Board of ICAN as Co-Legal Counsel

From BIZPACReview.com, on June 12, 2013

“Florida Gov. Rick Scott arrived in Boca Raton Monday for an intimate breakfast of about 70 to meet with members of the Independent Conservative Action Network , a new organization poised to have a powerful impact on South Florida and the rest of the sunshine state.

The governor greeted the crowd and posed for photos before giving a brief speech and answering a few questions on hot button issues like the health care exchange and immigration.

The group’s Facebook page  says it is “dedicated to spreading the conservative message through education, outreach and community involvement.” Its board members are experienced business and community leaders from all over the state:

Richard Writes in BizPACReview

I wrote a piece today in BizPACReview entitled “Who will beat the nation’s most vulnerable Democrat” analyzing the numbers in the Congressional District 18 race between Allen West and Patrick Murphy.  You can read part of it here and link to the full story below.

Who will beat the nation’s ‘most vulnerable Democrat’?

FEBRUARY 19, 2013 BY RICHARD DENAPOLI

Congressman Patrick Murphy, who recently eked out a victory over former Congressman Allen West in District 18, has now been labeled  the “most vulnerable Democrat.”

Sabato’s Crystal Ball, the product of highly respected University of Virginia Center for Politics Director Larry J. Sabato, said just that on Feb. 7. The Crystal Ball has been a leader in accurately predicting elections across the country.

One way to determine vulnerability of Democrats in Congress is to look at districts where Mitt Romney won yet the Republican congressional candidate lost. An analysis of Congressional District 18 shows that Romney won the district, and the numbers show how vulnerable Murphy may be in 2014.

Romney Obama West Murphy
Palm Beach 71,066 65,699 68,348 68,158
Martin 48,183 30,107 43,333 32,532
St. Lucie 56,202 65,869 52,672 65,567
Total Votes 175,451 161,675 164,353 166,257
Percentage Total of 2-way race 52% 48% 49.7% 50.3%

The numbers clearly show this is a swing district. To Read More Click Here

State Representative George Moraitis Thanks Chairman Richard DeNapoli for His Service

Here’s a message my good friend State Representative George Moraitis.  Thanks and best wishes to a wonderful Representative for Broward!

A LETTER FROM STATE REPRESENTATIVE GEORGE MORAITIS

Dear Friends,

I’m writing to thank Richard DeNapoli for his outstanding service to our party as Chairman of the Broward Republican Executive Committee these past two years. We have all benefited from his leadership, dedication and organization in helping Republicans in our county get elected at all levels of government. We will miss Richard’s steady presence and enthusiasm, however I congratulate him on his professional opportunity and desire to spend time with his growing family.
This was undoubtedly a difficult election for conservatives. Significant challenges lie ahead for our party to reach a changing electorate without compromising the founding principles of individual responsibility and limited government which helped make this nation a beacon of hope for the world.
That said, Richard has done a great job during his term energizing our volunteers and making the case for getting conservatives elected. The next Chairman must be prepared to lead by example as Richard has in organizing our party to move forward.  Let’s all thank Richard for his dedicated service and friendship as Chairman of our party.
Fair Winds and Following Seas to Richard and his family.
Sincerely,
George Moraitis
State Representative, District 93

Dear Fellow BREC Members:

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks and heartfelt congratulations to our County Chairman Richard DeNapoli on his announcement regarding the new direction his career is taking him and his family.

Richard has always stood firmly rooted in the principles of our Party and has spent his term as Chairman rebuilding the party and raising the funds, both federal and state, with a commitment to Republican success, at the municipal, county, state and national level.  His dedication and energy on behalf of candidates will surely be missed.

Leadership means making difficult decisions and often taking all of the blame and little or none of the success.  Richard has led and has strived to make the Broward Republican Executive Committee an organization of pride and principles.

Please join me in wishing Richard his wife Brigita and their son Victor, the best of luck and God’s blessing as they move on to the next set of challenges life has to offer.

Sincerely,

 Sharon Day

Petrocelli to Lead Broward Republicans

From BizPACReview.com …

Broward County Republicans put Rico Petrocelli in the top leadership position Monday night with a unanimous vote of support.

The new chairman of  the Broward County Republican Executive Committee will replace Richard DeNapoli, who announced last month he would follow a career opportunity in another part of the state. DeNapoli endorsed Petrocelli and a slate of three other candidates for board positions. They were all voted in by the REC members. In part of his written endorsement, DeNapoli said:

Many of our members do not realize what goes into running the Broward GOP.  From setting up our monthly meetings, booking the hotel, coordinating speakers, maintaining our headquarters, making sure various bills are paid, advertising the party events, meeting with candidates, sending out emails, speaking with our almost 400 members on a regular basis … Rico has the skills, talent and experience to keep our party running smoothly from day one.

We couldn’t have had our fundraising successes over the last two years without Rico Petrocelli.

A former Plantation city councilman, DeNapoli hired Petrocelli in 2010 as the county REC’s executive director, and according to the more than 250 Broward Republicans who supported his election as chairman, he has done a good job.

Petrocelli expected to  face challenger Karen Harrington, the former congressional candidate who announced her intention to run for county party chairwoman just after DeNapoli announced he wasn’t running for another term.

Harrington sent an email quitting the race just hours before Monday’s meeting, creating a stir in her absence. Read her email and the reaction to it at Karen Harrington embarrasses herself with another classless move.
